Applying for your licence - how to apply
You can apply online for your licence.
Do not book a route test before lodging an application as it will be cancelled and an administration fee of £20 will apply. Do not book more than one date as it will be cancelled and an administration fee of £20 will apply.
Before making an appointment please make sure you have read and understood the information on the Council's taxi/private hire car driver route tests<http://www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk/info/200214/taxi_licences/755/taxi_driver_route_tests> page. Please also ensure that you have submitted your application for a taxi/private hire car driver's licence online and successfully made the payment.
When you attend the route test, the Licensing Standards Officer (LSO) will ask you to confirm the booking reference number, your full name, date of birth and country of birth. This will be verified against the information we hold. Your photographic ID will also be checked to ensure that you are the applicant and you will be asked to sign a declaration confirming your details.
Please arrive on time as late arrivals will not be permitted entry and you will require to book and pay for a further route test. No refund will be given for a missed route test.
